What We Believe
The teachers, administrators, and Staff at McIntosh Area School are unified in their belief that all children have the ability to learn, are curious, creative, and can succeed.
No two students have exactly the same skills or learning styles. That's why we provide differentiated instruction through small-group learning, direct instruction, whole group, and one-on-one delivery. Our small class sizes allow us to identify the needs of each of our students and tailor their instruction accordingly.

Our Main Goal
McIntosh Area Charter School takes a whole-child approach to elementary education. Teachers, administrators, counselors, and support staff work together to meet the intellectual, social, behavioral, and emotional needs of each and every child we serve.

FAQ
A charter school is a public school managed by a non-profit Board of Directors. All charter schools are designed to allow more flexibility than standard public schools, although we are held accountable for academic achievement and prudent management by the Marion County Public School Board and the State Department of Education. For more detailed information, please visit the Florida Department of Education website, Click Here.
We welcome students from the surrounding areas to include other counties. Please contact our front office for specific questions.
McIntosh Area School is a Marion County Public School of Choice open to all students. There is no cost. Students also receive free breakfast and lunch.
Florida State Statute 1002.33 requires the charter school's governing board to appoint a representative to facilitate parental involvement, provide access to information, assist with questions/concerns, and resolve disputes regarding McIntosh Area School.
